Polestar is gearing up to reveal its second product, aptly named the Polestar 2. The Volvo-derived brand has released the above teaser shot of what is slated to be a new four-door coupe model that will rival the Tesla Model 3.
This birds-eye view of the Polstar 2 actually tells us quite a bit about the car. It is confirming what appears to be a dramatic LED wrap-around light connecting the taillights. It’s also confirming a nicely chiseled hood and large panoramic moonroof.
Polestar has suggested the battery-electric 2 will offer around 395 horsepower and offer about 300 miles of electric range, though specifics will have to wait until the car’s reveal. Speaking of its reveal, the current assumption is that it will bow at next month’s Geneva Motor Show.
Another headliner of the Polestar 2 will be its Android-based infotainment system. The system will be constantly connected to the Internet, offering over-the-air software updates and live data. Customers will also find it similar given it will look a lot like an Android smartphone.
The Polestar 2 will be the brand’s first mainstream product. Its first car, the Polestar 1, is a $150,000 hybrid coupe. The brand is slated to launch a third product, which will be a battery-electric crossover.
