VW Displays Atlas 'Weekend Edition' Concept In Chicago

Despite the car not even being on dealership lots yet, Volkswagen is trying to keep its new Atlas in the press with the “Weekend Edition” concept it will show in Chicago. There’s really nothing new here, it is just accessorized with VW accessories.

The concept is based on a production SEL Premium model with the Atlas spec 3.6-liter V-6, but is outfitted with things like running boards, a luggage bin, bug shield and window trim. The overall theme and motif here is similar to VW’s old Weekender models. And of course, VW has selected that bizarre yellow-ish paint to showcase this in.

Inside, the Weekend Edition features more accessories, such as a tablet holder for the second row seats and a handy cargo divider in back. There’s also floor liners and several other small items.

Basically any accessory you can throw on a vehicle has been implemented here. And fortunately for everyone, VW says most of these accessories will be available when the Atlas goes on sale in a few weeks.
