VWvortex reports that the Volkswagen Arteon will be launched in North America as part of a move by the Wolfsburg-based automaker to introduce two new vehicles per year for the next four years.
Speaking at the Garden Theater in Detroit during the North American International Auto Show, Volkswagen brand chief Herbert Diess confirmed that the Arteon and an updated version of the Golf will hit the market in 2018. The launches follow this year’s releases of the Atlas and updated Tiguan.
Set to be unveiled at the Geneva International Motor Show in March, the Arteon four-door coupe will replace Volkwagen’s aging CC. Believed to adopt design cues from VW’s Chinese market Phideon, the Arteon was first teased through the release of a sketch in November.
Diess also indicated that VW will introduce two new SUVs in 2019, one of which is speculated to be a revamped version of the Touareg.
