There’s been no lack of vehicle reveals recently and Lexus is about to join the party. The luxury brand has confirmed it will reveal an all-new battery-electric model on March 30th. In the meantime, the brand has issued up a new teaser of its upcoming EV.

Lexus isn’t saying much about its new EV other than confirming the car “previews the next generation of Lexus vehicles.” The brand has suggested this will be a bespoke EV model, not simply an offshoot of an existing model. This uniqueness is actually underscored with the teaser shots.

The teaser shots showcase an interesting silhouette. Its ride height appears high, but the overall greenhouse height isn’t up to traditional SUV standards. In fact, the greenhouse has a bit of a fastback appearance and is certainly a deviation from anything in the Lexus showroom today. Lexus has said its EV’s will reset its design theme, including a new take on its controversial spindle grille design.

This new EV is expected to be built atop Toyota’s new e-TNGA architecture. It’s also expected to be powered by Lexus’ Direct4 powertrain, which includes an electric motor at each axle. The electric motors can send power to all four wheels independently via a single driveshaft. Direct4 was previewed back in December and can be fitted to EV’s or hybrids, with a gas engine at the front axle in place of an electric motor.

Stay tuned on March 30th to hear more about this upcoming electric Lexus.
