The Lexus flagship SUV is about to get an update. Lexus is slated to debut the 2022 Lexus LX 600 on October 13th in the Middle East and virtually. Ahead of the debut, Lexus is showing off the first official image of the new LX.

The teaser shows off the new LX rear fascia. Unsurprisingly, the design theme seems to borrow from the recently-launched 2022 NX. This means there’s a wrap-around taillight treatment highlighting the rear graphic. Lexus has also swapped out the brand’s L-shaped logo in favor Lexus text, in extra large format for this large SUV. This teaser also confirms Lexus is dropping many of the chrome accents found on the current LX in favor of a clean, modern design.

Speaking of modern, this LX will be new from the ground up. Built atop Toyota’s TGNA-F architecture, it is expected to be lighter than today’s LX with much-improved driving dynamics. Power for the LX 600 is expected to come from a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 with 409 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. A hybrid variant is also possible sometime in the future, while some global markets will get a diesel engine.

Expect to hear all of the details on the 2022 Lexus LX 600 during its debut next week.
