The Lexus ES sedan isn’t that old, but apparently Lexus feels it’s time for an update. The brand is teasing the 2022 ES, which shows off a very mild refresh that will debut at next week’s Shanghai Motor Show.

Lexus is showing off two images of the 2022 ES. One photo shows off the rear of the car, which underscores the lightness of this particular refresh. There’s no significant changes to the rear design. It looks like the lower fascia is slightly revised, but even that’s difficult to discern due to the blur on the image.

The second photo is a close up of the headlight. This image actually does confirm some modest design changes in the form of a new lamp design. The overall shape looks the same, but the bezel has been swapped out. The new bezel features an LED hockey stick-like accent that is shorter and wider than the current car.

Aside from these two images, Lexus isn’t saying what other changes will take place. Given the 2021 ES just got all-wheel drive, it seems unlikely there will be any significant mechanical updates.

The 2022 Lexus ES will debut on April 18th.
