Toyota is scheduled to finally reveal the 2020 Supra Monday at the Detroit Auto Show, but the imminence isn’t stopping additional leaks about Toyota’s hot new product. Now, we even have an alleged price tag.
The enthusiasts over at SupraMKV have rightfully been all over this car. They’ve brought us several leaked photographs of the 2020 Supra a a few times, with the ones in this post being the latest looks at the BMW-derived Toyota.
Along with our clearest look yet at the production Supra, the enthusiast site claims the car will carry a base price of $49,990 when it goes on sale later this year. Buyers will have two additional trim levels beyond the base model to select from, including the Premium model that will start at $53,990 and a coveted Launch Edition car that will start at $55,250. The Launch Edition will be the trim level interested buyers will have the option to pre-order.
The quoted pricing includes the Supra’s 3.0-liter inline-six engine. A 2.0-liter four-cylinder car is expected to launch later on. Both engines are borrowed from BMW.
Of course, until Toyota drops the official press release on pricing, these numbers are just rumored. That said, they seem reasonable for a sports car that was co-developed with BMW. Given the vast fanfare over the Supra nameplate, we’d hedge a bet that Toyota will have no problem moving the Supra from lots later this year.
