Toyota has issued another teaser shot of the upcoming 2019 Avalon sedan. This time, the company is offering up a close-up of its taillight design; following the light theme established by the first teaser shot of the car.
Like this first, this shot doesn’t tell us much on the surface. It does continue to confirm that the fifth-generation Avalon is going to have a far more aggressive design theme than previous versions of the large sedan. This shot also confirms the car will have sequential turn signals, similar to other recent luxury vehicles.
The all-new Avalon will be built atop Toyota’s new TNGA platform, which is underpinning just about everything at the company these days, including the new Camry. The new digs will also come with revised powertrains, including a variant of the 3.5-liter V-6 found under the hood of the new Camry.
A hybrid version of the new Avalon is expected to come along sometime after launch. Expect to see Toyota’s 2.5-liter four-cylinder under the hood of this version.
Toyota will reveal the all-new Avalon next week at the Detroit Auto Show. Sales are expected to follow in mid-2018.
