Tesla is reportedly working on an interior design refresh for its Model S and Model X vehicles. The new design is expected to bring the two products in line with the minimalist interior found in the Model 3 sedan.
Images published by Electrek claim to show design renderings of the proposed interior designs for the two flagship models. It’s quite clear from the photos that Tesla is planning to bring parity between its models when it comes to the interior layout. This means the Model S and X are on deck to receive a dash layout that includes one singular HVAC vent and one massive touchscreen.
While the overall layout is similar to the Model 3, the renderings also show that the Model S and X are likely to maintain a small gauge cluster display, something the lesser Model 3 doesn’t offer.
The report also states that Tesla is planning to use higher-end materials in the Model S and X interiors than the spartan Model 3 utilizes. Specifically, documents obtained by Electrek suggests the two models will have software materials, a second row center console and improved rear seats.
This interior refresh is also slated to bring more features to both the Model S and Model X to bring them more in line with luxury competitors.
