Elon Musk "Teases" Tesla Pickup Truck

Tucked within the presentation of last week’s Tesla Model Y reveal was a teaser for another new Tesla product. Tesla CEO Elon Musk has–as he often does–taken to Twitter to amplify said teaser after no one really noticed the obscure image during the Model Y reveal.

The image, above, is supposedly of Tesla’s upcoming pickup truck. The photo is so ambiguous it’s difficult to know what we’re even looking at. It’s possible the image is of the front clip of the pickup, with the white LED lighting serving as a full-length headlight, maybe? It’s also possible we’re looking at the bed of the Tesla truck, covered. Given truck beds are negatives for aerodynamics, it would seem plausible Tesla will offer a cover for it to maximize electric range.

Regardless what we’re looking at in the photo, Tesla is saying its battery-electric pickup will be revealed sometime this year. It’s expected to offer seating for up to six people and have an electric range of 400 to 500 miles.
