Subaru is already known as an outdoorsy, rugged brand. However, as other automakers have joined the club with off-road focused trim levels, Subaru needs to up its game. The brand will do just that with the addition of the Outback Wilderness, which the brand has teased this week.
The Outback Wilderness has been rumored for awhile now. Spy shots have also depicted an Outback with a higher ride height and thicker body cladding, both elements confirmed in this close-up teaser. The teaser also confirms off-road tires, unique wheels and a cool orange Outback badge above the rocker panel.
Aside from the beefier appearance, expect a few functional upgrades as well. Things like additional skid plates and other off-road focused bits will likely craft the Wilderness trim. That said, don’t expect any major overhauls with the Outback, specifically to its existing powertrain.
Aside from that, details will have to wait for the Outback Wilderness reveal. Subaru says it will reveal the Wilderness on March 30th at 11AM ET. Stay tuned.
