Sources: Nissan Qashqai Crossover to Debut in Detroit

Citing multiple sources, The Truth About Cars is reporting that Nissan will be adding the Qashqai crossover to its North American lineup, with the model to make its debut at the North American International Auto Show in January.

Set to slot below the Rogue, the addition of the compact crossover is designed to help address the burgeoning demand for utility vehicles and will not replace an existing model.

TTAC indicates that while details about powertrains are unknown, the North American model will likely be equipped with a four-cylinder gasoline engine mated to a continuously variable transmission.

The Qashqai is expected to be available in late 2017 as a 2018 model.

Does this mean the Juke will be saying "Sayonara"? The Juke competes in the same market.
