In less than a week Nissan will pull the cover off its hotly anticipated Z Proto, a preview at the next Nissan 400Z. Building up to its reveal on Sept. 16th, Nissan has dropped another short video teaser of the Z Proto, this time of the car revving its engine and, most importantly, confirming it will feature a manual transmission.

We speculated a manual gearbox after the last video tester, but this one has no ambiguity in it. Near the close of the video a very clear photo emerges of the Z Proto’s center console with a manual gear shifter proudly displayed.

As for the engine, it sounds like what we expect: a turbocharged V-6 mill. More specifically, the redesigned Z car is expected to utilize a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 borrowed from the Infiniti Q50 and Q60 Red Sport 400. In the Infiniti cars this engine generates 400 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque, but it’s unknown what the Z Proto’s output will look like.

Expect all of the details of the Nissan Z Proto to spill out during the car’s reveal on Sept. 16th.
