Nissan Debuts GT-R Track Edition

Nissan will be using the upcoming New York Auto Show as the venue of choice to launch a new middle-of-the-road GT-R. The new Track Edition version of the car aims to hit a performance sweet spot by slotting between the base Premium car and the hot NISMO version.

The formula with the Track Edition is not unfamiliar. Nissan offered a GT-R Track Edition back in 2014. Like the previous one, this one is taking the base car’s 565 horsepower twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V-6 and applying some of the NISMO’s hardware to make an even better track car.

As one would expect from a track car, this version will bum its lighter suspension and tires from the NISMO car. Additionally, the Track Edition will borrow added adhesive to improve structural rigidity over the base car, while the NISMO front fenders and unique 20-inch wheels round out the exterior of this package.

Inside, Nissan is throwing in a unique black and red interior color combination so Track Edition buyers feel special every time they get inside.

There’s no word yet on the price of this beast. Be assured that the starting price of the 2018 GT-R Track Edition will be somewhere north of the Premium’s $110,000 price tag.
