Mercedes-Benz has released a teaser video of what is believed to be the Mercedes-Maybach 6 Convertible Concept. The brand has already confirmed plans to reveal an unexpected concept at the upcoming Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. It’s believed that said concept will be a convertible version of the Mercedes-Maybach 6 Concept from last year.
The video all but confirms the speculation that this year’s concept is a drop-top follow-up to last year’s. Instead of the glistening red hue, the video shows a vibrant blue concept car with an extremely long hood and dramatic sheetmetal. Large wheels and an interior similar to that of the original Mercedes-Maybach 6 Concept sort of seal the deal here.
Assuming the drop-top version offers the same powertrain as last year’s concept, that means there will be four electric motors powered by an 80-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The combination generates 750 horsepower, according to Mercedes.
Last year Mercedes said the Mercedes-Maybach 6 showcased the new design direction for the Maybach nameplate. Apparently they feel the need to follow up on that again this year.
Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is slated to begin on August 17th.
