Mercedes-Benz is quickly ramping up its EV lineup. The luxury brand will show off its EQB SUV in a few days at the Shanghai Motor Show. In the meantime, we have a teaser to view.
There aren’t any major design surprises with the EQB. As the name implies, the EQB is the effectively repurposing the body of the current GLB Class. That said, the teaser confirms Mercedes will slot in a unique front fascia, including dramatic full-width LED lights and the omission of a traditional grille. Similar unique treatment is expected around back as Mercedes tries to keep a family look with its EQ models.
Mercedes has not confirmed technical detail just yet. However, rumors have suggested the EQB will offer two batteries capacities; a 60-kWh and 110-kWh option. Along with the multiple batter packs, expect a range of different outputs as well.
The Mercedes EQB will launch in China shortly after its reveal this month. It will launch in Europe by the end of this year, while U.S. customers will gain access sometime in 2022.
