Mercedes-AMG Teases CLA 35 Bound for New York

Mercedes-AMG has confirmed plans to leverage next week’s New York Auto Show to unveil its new CLA 35. The latest AMG model is expected to be a four-door coupe model based on the all-new CLA.

While the design isn’t entirely known beyond a pair to teasers, what’s under the hood is known. AMG is expected to slot in a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that’s good for 302 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. If those figures sound familiar, it’s because they are identical to the recently-revealed A 35, which shares most of its bones with the new CLA.

Like in the A 35, the CLA 35 is expected to send that power through a dual-clutch seven-speed automatic transmission and 4-MATIC all-wheel-drive.

It is worth noting that the CLA 35 isn’t expected to be the last AMG iteration of the new CLA Class. A CLA 45 is also anticipated, which will offer a beefier version of the same 2.0-liter turbo with power output of around 416 horsepower.

Expect to see all the details on the 2020 Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 next week from the New York Auto Show.

Stunning from every angle. The new Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 4MATIC. More to come.[Mercedes-Benz CLA 35 4MATIC |…
