The ever-vigilant crew at AutoGuide have once again spotted a new trademark submission, this time coming from Daimler AG, owner of the Mercedes-Benz brand.
The Stuttgart-based company recently filed with the European Union Intellectual Property Office to protect the mark “EQ Power +.”
While the trademark filing for “EQ Power +” is simply associated with “automotive vehicles,” we suspect that the mark could be used to designate a particular powertrain, or perhaps a performance version of an EQ model.
In 2016, Mercedes-Benz unveiled its Generation EQ concept at the Paris Motor Show, indicating that its EQ sub-brand would be comprised of the division’s battery electric vehicles. At the time of the introduction, Mercedes indicated that it would produce ten EQ models by 2025, using a single, modularized platform.
