Kia used the North American Auto Show to premier its all-new compact Kia Forte. With its update, the Korean automaker is bringing its new sports car design from the Stinger to the Forte.
The 2019 model is not a totally new design theme from the last generation, but its sporty character can be easily seen.
The updates are not only skin deep either. The all-new Forte comes with a 2.0L Inline-4 engine mated with an all-new Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT) which should produce a very efficient 35 MPG combined.
The car’s dimensions grew is almost every way with overall length increasing 3.2 inches making for a more comfortable cabin.
An 8-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, and Apple Car Play will all come standard.
Look for the 2019 Forte to be on dealer lots later this year. Judging by spy shots, the Forte and Cee’d will be merging for the first time is what should allow Kia to save money by not producing two different compact hatches.
