Jaguar is working on an even hotter version of its F-Pace SUV. The brand has been caught testing beefier versions of the F-Pace in places such as the Nürburgring, alleged by AutoCar to be the F-Pace SVR version with a supercharged V-8 under the hood.
As Jaguar often does, the brand will apparently pull the supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 found in the F-Type SVR for the F-Pace SVR. This means that around 570 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque can be expected to flow through an eight-speed automatic gearbox. While the F-Type can be had in rear-wheel-drive, this one expected to be all-wheel-drive only.
The SVR version will provide buyers a nice power bump from today’s 3.0-liter V-6, which offers 340 horsepower in the F-Pace and a zero to 60 mph time of around 5.4 seconds. It’s a safe bet the SVR version will lower that acceleration time closer to 4 seconds.
In addition to the bigger engine, spy shots have confirmed aggressive exterior design changes to match the demeanor. And of course, wider wheels and tires are in tow to keep the additional power down to the pavement.
Jaguar is expected to reveal the F-Pace SVR later this year, with an on-sale date of sometime in 2018.
