Hyundai has confirmed it will reveal an all-new crossover model at next week’s New York Auto Show. Known as the Hyundai Venue, the new crossover will be Hyundai’s smallest crossover in North America.
As part of the announcement, Hyundai has released four sketches of the new Venue. Unsurprisingly, the Venue appears to be taking many design cues from the Kona and Santa Fe crossovers. This means there’s a large, bold grille design with slim headlights flanking either side.
Glancing at the side profile, it looks like Hyundai may position the Venue as a three-door design as there is no visible door handle on the back door. Given the overall small stature, it would come as little surprise if Hyundai takes that path with the Venue. Think of it as a little Veloster influence.
The high style approach is underscored by Hyundai, saying that the name was selected because it’s a place people want to be seen. Apparently people are going want to be seen inside the Venue too.
The Venue will slot below the Kona within the Hyundai crossover pecking order. No word yet on which powertrain options the Venue will offer.
