Hyundai is continuing a steady stream of Ioniq 5 teasers. This time Hyundai is providing an interior glimpse of the brand’s upcoming battery-electric crossover. The teaser shows off a simple, modern interior layout that Hyundai promises as being “ethical.”
The photo shows off a modern interior design with a dual-panel LCD screen layout. The two screens are joined in one pane, a trend we’ve seen from several automakers. Underscoring the modern feel is a focus on horizontal shapes and a black and white color scheme. Hyundai says the Ioniq 5 interior will feature several eco-friendly materials and textiles, but details are apparently reserved for the car’s reveal.
Built on Hyundai’s new E-GMP architecture, the Ioniq 5 will feature a flat floor. This is allowing Hyundai to engineer a central console that will slide back and forth like the front seats. This allows the driver and front passenger the ability to enter and exit the vehicle from either side.
Hyundai says the 2022 Ioniq 5 will be revealed on Feb. 23rd. Production of the Ioniq 5 is expected to start sometime later in 2021. Over time all of Hyundai’s battery-electric models will carry the Ioniq badge.
