While we all knew the 2019 Hyundai Veloster would be revealed at the Detroit Auto Show this week, we didn’t expect to see the new Veloster N. Part of Hyundai’s new N performance sub-brand, this Veloster is packing a healthy 275 horsepower.
Power for the Veloster N is coming from Hyundai’s turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, which is twisting out 260 pound-feet of torque on top of the 275 horsepower figure. This power will funnel exclusively through a six-speed manual gearbox and an electronic limited-slip differential at the front. Hyundai says the Veloster N will also feature an electronic suspension system as well.
Basically, Hyundai appears to be joining the hot-hatch world with its quirky three-door hatchback. And yes, this one is coming to the U.S. market.
