Genesis has released a short video clip teasing an upcoming concept car. The car appears to be a battery-electric coupe that is a a follow up to the 2017 Essentia Concept.

This teaser video does not show us too much, but it does provide enough of a view to tell this isn’t a revamped Essentia. Instead, this looks like a far more production-ready vehicle with a really dramatic design theme. There’s some design cues that are similar to the Essentia, such as the horizontal parallel lamps, which are also a trait found on their production vehicles.

Aside from knowing this is an electric car, Genesis is providing nothing in terms of technical details. The Essentia was also an EV. At the time Genesis said the car could go from zero to 60 mph in less than three seconds, a sprint that is certainly realistic even with today’s EV tech.

While Genesis is calling this a concept vehicle, it likely has production potential. Genesis has hinted in the past it desires to launch a luxury coupe. At this point there’s no question any new coupe out of the brand would likely be an EV given that’s the direction Genesis (and just about every brand) is headed.

Genesis will reveal its new concept Wednesday, March 31st. Stay turned for more details.
