Opel Teases New Design Language

Opel has issued a teaser shot of an upcoming concept vehicle. The concept vehicle is slated for reveal sometime this year and will preview the brand’s new design theme.

Thus far Opel isn’t saying too much about the actual concept car, but they are talking about their new design language. As the brand attempts reinvention after its divorce from General Motors, a new design theme is apparently an imperative. Opel is calling this new design “bold and pure.”

The new theme appears to offer strong proportions and simple surfacing, denoted ever so slightly by the above teaser, which almost appears like an evolution from the Opel GT Concept the brand showed off under GM.

Opel is saying not to expect any products with the bold and pure theme until next decade. That said, refreshed versions of the Opel Mokka X and Corsa will incorporate a few design elements from the new design language.
