Since its original announce General Motors has asserted the 2022 GMC Hummer EV would feature over 350 miles of range. While that assertion has come strictly from internal testing, a new leak from the company’s own consumer app suggests the Hummer EV won’t cross the 350 mile bar.

A keen user of HummerChat ultimately noticed the Hummer EV showing up in the latest version of the MyChevrolet App. Within the app there is an EV route planner that lists GM’s current EV’s. The Hummer is now listed in that portion of the app alongside the Chevrolet Bolt EV and EUV. Subsequently, the Hummer EV is listed as 344 miles of range. This would clearly be slightly short of the 350 mile range goal, but still within reach of the original goal.

It’s important to take this number with a grain of salt for now. The EPA has not announced the official numbers for the 2022 Hummer EV, so it’s unclear if 344 is the official number from the agency. If so, the number is likely for the 2022 GMC Hummer EV Edition 1, which features massive 35-inch tires that are undoubtedly going to cause a drop in overall efficiency.

The 2022 GMC Hummer EV is already in pre-production at GM’s Factory Zero just outside of Detroit. Regular production should commence by the end of the year with deliveries beginning in early 2022. Expect to hear the official EPA range rating by the end of the year as well.
