In an era where the conversation is always around rising prices, it’s surprising to see one product buck the trend. The 2022 GMC Terrain is seeing modest price decreases, despite being refreshed and maintaining all of its current features.

The mid-cycle enhancement is generating a few changes to the Terrain trim levels. The base SL trim has been scrapped, leaving the Terrain SLE as the base model. GMC is also slotting in a new off-road focused AT4 trim, which rests just below the Denali in terms of pricing. All in, each Terrain trim is seeing a price reduction of $600-$900. The new entry price for the 2022 Terrain is $30,290.

Another noteworthy change in the lineup is the fact that the Denali is all-wheel drive only now. In 2021 and prior years Denali buyers could opt for front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. This is, technically, creating a higher entry price for the Denali.

All 2022 Terrain models receive a new grille and LED headlights. Inside, there’s a few modest changes like new shifter buttons. All 2022 Terrains also feature standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The 2022 GMC Terrain is arriving in dealerships now.
