Today GMC took the wraps off the 2022 GMC Terrain AT4. The first-ever Terrain AT4 brings with it an overall refresh for the 2022 Terrain lineup and completes GMC’s AT4 family.
The fact the 2022 Terrain is getting a refresh comes as no surprise. In fact, the refresh was originally slated for the 2021 model year, but got pushed back due to the global pandemic. Nonetheless, it is ready for 2022 and ushers in some fairly modest changes. The entire Terrain lineup is getting a revised front clip with a larger grille and redesigned headlights. The look is not a significant departure from the previous version.
Terrain AT4 models see a varied appearance versus the rest of the Terrain lineup. There’s a unique grille with the AT4 badge in the lower left of the grille, similar to the Sierra and Yukon AT4 models. Unique wheel options and front skid plates round out the exterior uniqueness of the AT4.
GMC has added a few new options to the 2022 Terrain as part of the refresh. The noteworthy additions include a new heads-up display system, standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and new wheel designs.
Powering all iterations of the 2022 GMC Terrain is a carryover turbocharged 1.5-liter inline-four. This engine generates 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque. This power flows through a nine-speed automatic transmission.
The 2022 GMC Terrain will go on sale later this year.
