Chevrolet Lowers 2018 Tahoe Base Price With New Special Edition

The 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe Custom is a new trim that brings down the base price of Chevy’s midsize SUV. While most special edition models require a price premium, this one is knocking down the price by about $3,500 over a Tahoe LS.

So, how is Chevrolet accomplishing this? Well, less money naturally means less features. The Custom removes the Tahoe’s third-row seat entirely and 18-inch painted wheels replace the normal polished units. Aside from those two issues, the Tahoe Custom is basically the same as a Tahoe LS.

That said, the Tahoe LS comes well-equipped these days. It has Chevy’s 355 horsepower 5.3-liter V-8 and an eight-inch touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Buyers wanting more than the base version can still add a host of options to the Tahoe Custom, including four-wheel-drive.

Tahoe Custom will arrive in Chevrolet dealerships this fall with a base price of $44,995.

Why is the 5.3 just God awful?

It feels gutless in the Tahoe but not bad at all in the pickups. Its definitely setup for max fuel efficiency in the Tahoe.

Next step is to offer a stripper with the 6.2 because the 5.3 in the Tahoe or burden is just God awful.

    Chevy's midsize SUV

Tahoe is not a mid sized SUV.

And while we are at it, the Traverse and Explorers aren't SUVs at all. They are crossovers, or CUVs.
