Chevrolet will be expanding its lineup of EV’s to include a battery-electric Chevrolet Equinox. The Equinox EV will head into Chevrolet dealerships in fall 2023 as a 2024 model.
GM says the 2024 Equinox EV will have an estimated MSRP of around $30,000 in the U.S. Chevrolet is planning to offer both fleet and retail versions of the EV, including LT and RS trim levels. GM also confirmed today that the Equinox EV will join a Chevrolet Blazer EV that is launching in the spring of 2023.
“The Equinox has always played an important role for Chevrolet as the second-highest selling brand nameplate,” said Steve Hill, Chevrolet vice president. “Providing an affordable EV option in the industry’s highest volume segment proves Chevy is going to make EVs available to everyone.”
Equinox EV is expected to be produced at GM’s Ramos Arzipe, Mexico assembly plant. Like GM’s other EV’s, this one will leverage GM’s Ultium battery system. Thus far GM is not disclosing any range or battery specifications on the Equinox EV.
