Today Chevrolet announced the 2016 Chevrolet Trax Midnight Edition. The new content package gives the Trax crossover a “blacked out” style, much like the Midnight Editions of other Chevrolet products. Perhaps it is Chevrolet’s attempt to add some excitement to the rather stale looking Trax?
Trax Midnight is based on the top-tier LTZ trim level and adds features such as black wheels, bezels, beltline molding and door handles. Additionally the Midnight gains black seats trimmed with gray piping. Basically, anything that is typically chrome on the exterior of the Trax…is appropriately black on the Midnight Edition.
Trax is a member of one of the hottest market segments in the U.S. right now and Chevrolet seems to be pleased with its success thus far. The brand has sold 57,707 Trax models thus far in 2015, achieving approximately 20-percent market share in the small crossover segment.
Those eagerly awaiting the Trax Midnight Edition will be able to satisfy their craving in February 2016, when it goes on sale. Expect the price tag to be the Trax LTZ price of $26,125 plus an additional $500 for the Midnight Package. So if you’re looking for a high-end Trax, the Midnight Edition is a fairly easy decision since it gives this blah looker some pizzaz.
