The wait is nearly over for those eager to get in line for Cadillac’s first battery-electric model. The luxury brand will begin accepting reservations for the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq later today.

More specifically, interested buyers can head over to the Cadillac website at 4:00 p.m. ET this afternoon. From there they will be able to raise their hand for one of the first Lyriq models, which are set to arrive sometime in the first half of 2022. It is worth mentioning that the first version of the Lyriq is rear-wheel drive only. An all-wheel drive variant is expected to launch at a later date and is not subject to reservations today.

The Lyriq is among the first GM EV’s to leverage the company’s new Ultium battery system. Lyriq is expected to offer owners around 300 miles of range per charge and starts around $60,000. In atypical GM fashion, there’s very few options to select from on the new Lyriq. Buyers can select between black or silver as an exterior color and that’s about it. The order guide can be found here.

Lyriq marks the beginning of Cadillac’s transformation toward being an EV-only brand. The company has already confirmed plans to roll out two additional EV SUV’s and the Celestiq ultra-premium sedan.
