A forum-goer at GMInsideNews.com claims Buick has confirmed to dealerships that a wagon version of the Regal is headed to North America. General Motors allegedly showed the Regal Wagon and other new products to dealers at a meeting recently in Austin, Texas.

This isn’t the first time rumors of a Regal Wagon have surfaced. Back when the car first launched in 2011 rumors surfaced at the time that GM would eventually import the Opel Insignia wagon with a Buick badge on it. To date, such rumors have yet to pan out. Back in December AutoVerdict obtained supplier documents suggesting a wagon version was coming.

The next-generation Buick Regal is supposed to launch in 2017 as a 2018 model. Like the current car, the new one will essentially be the Opel Insignia with a Buick badge on it. Once again, the car is expected to be produced and imported from GM’s Rüsselsheim, Germany assembly plant. The German production also makes the wagon version slightly easier since the Opel version is also built at the German plant.
