Buick Expands SUV Lineup With 2020 Encore GX

Not to be overshadowed with the related 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer, Buick has also confirmed plans to roll out the all-new 2020 Buick Encore GX. The Encore GX will slot between the Encore and Envision crossovers when it goes on sale in early 2020.

“As we look to the future of Buick, the Encore GX positions us strongly as a consideration for those who want to purchase small or compact SUVs,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president, Global Buick and GMC.

Buick says the Encore GX will feature 5 cubic feet of additional cargo space versus the current Encore, meaning it will slot into one of the fastest-growing SUV segments. Encore GX will bring a host of active safety features to the segment, including Front Pedestrian Braking, Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Alert and Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning. It will also offer the Enclave’s innovative Rear Camera Mirror, which provides a wide, less obstructed rear view while parking and driving, and High Definition Surround Vision camera system.

Much like the 2021 Trailblazer, Buick is refraining from disclosing any additional details on the 2020 Encore GX until closer to its market arrival next year.

It looks pretty good. I guess we'll have to wait a bit yet for pricing and statistics.
