The Buick Avenir lineup has grown quickly, now with the 2019 Regal Sportback being the latest addition. The 2019 Regal Avenir will add a little more style to the already attractive sedan and help push the car upmarket a little further.
There’s already Avenir versions of the Enclave and LaCrosse, so the formula here for Buick’s top-end models is becoming clear. Much like the other two, the Regal Avenir adds a more detailed grille design, 19-inch Pearl Nickel wheels and LED headlights to set it apart from lesser Regals on the street.
Inside, Avenir buyers will be greeted by diamond-quilted leather seats with “Avenir” embroidered in the headrest. The leather can be had in ebony or beige, while Avenir lighted door sill plates remind buyers they forked over the big bucks.
Regal Avenir will also come standard with nearly all the features offered on the Regal. This means an eight-speaker Bose sound system that’s connected to Buick’s all-new cloud-connected infotainment system, wireless phone charger and nearly all active safety features. The only feature that remains optional is, oddly, adaptive cruise control.
Unsurprisingly, the only engine option on Regal Avenir runs parity to the base Regal. This means a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 250 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque rests under the hood. That power is sent through a nine-speed automatic transmission.
Buick says the brand will announce pricing for the 2019 Regal Avenir closer to its launch this fall.
