Buick’s first Chinese-build vehicle is getting some additional upgrades for the 2019 model year. According to General Motors’ online order guide, the 2019 Buick Envision will gain the company’s new nine-speed automatic transmission and a few other upgrades.
The order guide shows that Envisions equipped with a 252 horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter will gain the nine-speed unit. Meanwhile, the 2.5-liter models will continue to soldier on with a six-speed unit. No additional mechanical changes are listed at this time.
Buick isn’t stopping there with changes, though. Base model Envisions are dropping their halogen headlights in favor of bi-xenon HID projectors, while new LED headlights will be optional on the upper trim levels. The guide is also listing new LED taillights, but does not provide details.
From a feature perspective, Buick is adding a wireless device charger and air ionizing system to the Envision. Both of these features recently launched on the all-new Buick Enclave, so it comes as little surprise that they’re proliferating more Buick crossovers.
A few other minor changes and a new interior color round out the changes to the 2019 Envision.
