Lincoln Teases New Navigator

Lincoln took to Twitter this morning to tease the next-generation Navigator, confirming its reveal this week at the New York Auto Show.

Although Lincoln has not explicitly stated the teaser is of the next Navigator, the profile of the headlights and overall large stance of the vehicle is sort of a dead giveaway. In fact, the teaser suggests the Navigator is going to look a lot like a production version of the Navigator Concept the brand showed off last year. Again, not a big surprise there either.

Expect all of the details on the new Navigator later this week out of the New York Auto Show.

The exterior has......lost something. It appears taller and shorter than the concept. Blocky.

They had to base it on the Expedition. IMO they did a decent job with it. Looks much closer to the concept to me than the Continental ended up looking.

It helps that the new Expedition is a "long and low" looking vehicle to start with. The proportions aren't as good as the concept, but you can tell this isn't based on some minivan/crossover chassis like the MDX, Pilot, or Explorer are. Looks more like the QX80 or Denali as it should. The rear drive Expedition chassis really helps with the dash/cowl relationship, which helps the designers make it look more like the concept.

Perhaps the Continental could have been based on the Mustang chassis, solving that issue and making the proportions look much closer to the concept.

Well GM from Lincoln to Infiniti it appears the competition has gotten quite fierce in this class. Your move.
