Lincoln Continental Coach Door Sold out, More Coming

Well, that didn’t take long. After announcing its one-off big sedan with suicide doors late last month, the Lincoln Continental Coach Door Edition is already sold out. The brand says all 80 copies have been spoken for, but the initial success means more will eventually become available.

Lincoln’s first production run is 80 units because this car is intended to commemorate the Continentals 80th anniversary. Lincoln hasn’t provided an exact price tag yet, but says it is around $110,000. Given this Continental is essentially a Continental Black Label stretched by 6-inches with suicide doors, it means the fancy doors are adding about $40,000 to the price.

While Lincoln has said it will announce additional availability of the long Continental sometime in the near future, it has not stated when or how many more units the eager public will be able to buy up.

I sort of figured with that kind of a blowout on them that there would be more coming at a later time.

It is not surprising that they would sell out of a special edition.

It is also not surprising that Lincoln would spread the doors out of the special edition due to the development costs.
