At this year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance Lincoln is showing off a new concept. The new concept is a collaboration between Lincoln and Detroit-based watch and accessory maker, Shinola. This tie-up is bringing some fashionable updates to the Aviator design.

On the outside this Aviator Concept has a few styling updates from the normal SUV. There’s a matte-finished copper insert in the grille and on the unique wheel design. Lastly, the pearl white paint aims to mimic Shinola’s mother of pearl watch faces.

The headliner of this collaboration is the interior of this concept. Shinola has given the interior a significant overhaul, starting with a whiskey-colored leather that’s adorning most of the surfaces. Meanwhile, the seats are fitted with fabric that looks similar to some of Shinola’s watch designs, similar to the metal surfaces on the dash panel.

So, what is the point of this collaboration? Well, for now Lincoln says this is just a design exercise. Given the brand’s focus on interior design in recent years, it’s not out the realm of possibility that something similar comes to market. It wouldn’t be the first time Lincoln has teamed up with a fashion label; we all remember the Givenchy Lincolns.
