No one knows the final price yet, but Ford has started accepting applications to own the upcoming Ford GT performance car. Through the website interested parties can basically apply to get a GT, of which is subject to Ford’s approval. While this seems like an odd process, it comes with the territory of what equates to a legendary supercar that will likely start at $400,000.

In addition to not knowing the price, we don’t even know the final performance specifications yet. Ford has only said that the 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 will churn out at least 600 horsepower, which should be more than enough to propel the mostly carbon fiber GT at lightning speed. It doesn’t hurt that the car looks absolutely fantastic and will be about as rare as vehicles get.

Apparently once approved by Ford, they will assign each GT prospect a concierge that will follow them through the order and ownership process. The concierge service will last well beyond the point of vehicle delivery. This seems more than appropriate given the car’s assumed price point.

For those of us that won’t be shelling out $400,000 for a new car, we can go on the Ford GT website and configure our own. Dreaming is still free, at least.
