Ford may have provided a refreshed look on the 2018 Mustang, but the Shelby GT350 model is remaining status quo for 2018 model year. The news confirms earlier rumors that Ford was going to effectively leave the hottest version of its pony car alone for 2018.
Buyers of the 2018 GT350 do have three new colors to select from: Orange Fury, Kona Blue and Lead Foot Gray.
Buyers can also opt for an Electronics Package that adds features such as a 9-inch touchscreen with Ford SYNC3, navigation system and a 9-speaker sound system. A Convenience Package also adds Recaro seats that have power adjustments with heating and cooling functionality.
Ford is also carrying over a mid-year change it made in 2017, which offers engine oil, transmission and differential coolers as standard equipment. This change came in response to owners complaining of overheating issues during track driving, something Ford claims the GT350 is factory-ready for. The issue has led to some owners filing a lawsuit against Ford.
There are no changes to the mechanical aspects of the GT350. That means the 5.2-liter V-8 is still under the hood with 526 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque that flows through a six-speed manual transmission.
