The current darling of the 2021 Ford F-150 lineup is the new PowerBoost hybrid, but that will soon change. Ford is slated to reveal the redesigned 2021 F-150 Raptor on February 3rd, but that didn’t stop the company CEO from sharing a small preview.

Ford CEO Jim Farley posted the short clip to his own Twitter account on Friday. The clip featured Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” as background music. Of course, Farley said “Enter Sandman!” as a caption in his tweet. The video goes on to offer a shady view of the Raptor’s redesigned front clip.

While short, the clip does confirm a few new items surrounding the Raptor. It confirms the F-150’s white eyebrow daytime running lamps will go yellow on the Raptor. It also confirms three new clearance lights resting at the center of what appears to be a massive new grille. All said, the look appears to be very evolutionary versus today’s Raptor, which follows a consistent theme Ford takes with F-150 redesigns in general.

Aside from the new look, we expect Ford Performance engineers to provide the Raptor with some new and improved hardware. While no official powertrain information has leaked out yet, the new Raptor is expected to be powered by Ford’s 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6. Like today’s, this engine will be mated to Ford’s 10-speed automatic transmission.

There have been rumors circulating that Ford may slot in a supercharged V-8 as an option on the Raptor. The engine would allow the Raptor to go head-to-head with the Ram TRX, which is powered by a supercharged Hemi V-8.

Nonetheless, all speculation can subside on February 3rd when Ford pulls the cover off the 2021 F-150 Raptor in full.
