Ford can’t seem to keep anything under wraps these days. Images of the 2021 Ford Bronco Sport have already leaked, but now an extensive amount of details regarding the new SUV are leaking out because Ford has published the Bronco Sport in its dealer ordering system.

Thanks to a Facebook user who apparently has access to the dealer ordering system, we now know everything from the Bronco Sport’s engine options to the exterior color choices. So lets start with the important powertrain options.

According to the order guides, the Bronco Sport will offer buyers two engine options. The base engine will be a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine, while an optional turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four will be optional. Both engines will be mated to eight-speed automatics.

The engine choices are identical to what is found under the hood of the 2020 Escape, which comes as no surprise given the fact the Escape and Bronco Sport will share underpinnings. In the Escape the 1.5-liter generates 180 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque, while the 2.0-liter hammers out 250 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque. We expect Bronco Sport will share the same ratings.

One big difference between the Escape and Bronco Sport is the fact it appears the Bronco Sport will be offered only in all-wheel-drive; no front-drive option.

Another nuance to the Bronco Sport is its trim level designations. The order guide is showing Base, Big Bend, Outer Banks and Badlands as the names of the trim levels. There’s also a First Edition trim level, which will likely be a special edition version in limited numbers; something Ford is doing with the Mustang Mach E.

From an equipment perspective, we still don’t know all the details. From the screenshots posted on Facebook, Bronco Sport will offer features such as dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, 17-inch wheels and other features expected on a compact SUV.

One can assume Ford’s typical suite of active safety features and technology gadgets will be offered in the Bronco Sport as well.

The 2021 Ford Bronco Sport will be unveiled sometime in the near future, pending the current pandemic situation.
