Publication Ward’sAuto has released their annual list of the 10 best automotive interiors. This year’s list, like most years, is dominated by luxury vehicle interiors with a decent mix of import and domestic automobiles. As part of the report Ward’s notes that the average price of a new vehicle is $33,000, which has caused the publication to reassess what a mainstream vehicle really is in the North American market, driving the study to include more premium vehicles.
This year’s list is comprised of the following interiors:
- Audi TTS
- BMW 7-Series
- Cadillac XT5
- Chevrolet Camaro
- Chrysler Pacifica
- Honda Civic
- Lexus RX
- Mercedes-Benz GLC
- Nissan Maxima
- Volvo XC90
The short-list is the outcome of including 47 new or heavily redesigned interiors in the study. Ward’s claims the winners are selected for a variety of metrics, including material quality, design harmony and the effectiveness of human-machine interface. Infotainment is actually becoming such a big part of the automobile experience that the publication is going to hold its first-ever “User Experience Competition” later this year, with the outcome being another “10 Best” list.
