Jeep Showcasing Hybrid SUV In Shanghai

Jeep will unveil a new concept SUV at the Shanghai Motor Show on April 19th. The concept was previewed in teasers found within invitations to the press, inviting them to the reveal later this month.

The teaser shots make it unquestionable that the concept is a Jeep brand product. With design influence from the Compass and Renegade, such as blacked-out pillars, it appears it slots between the two in terms of size.

We do know that the concept will be some form of alternative fuel vehicle, an important element for the Chinese market. Rumors suggest it will be powered by a plug-in hybrid powertrain, specifically.

FCA’s communications team in China has confirmed plans to reveal the concept, but called it one that is “only for China.”
