Genesis’ global reveal of its first SUV model has already occurred, but now the 2021 Genesis GV80 has bowed stateside. This second reveal is yielding some details specific to the U.S. model, including the fact it will offer a pair of turbocharged engines.

Bookending the bottom of the GV80 lineup will be a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-four and rear-wheel-drive. Buyers wanting more oomph will be able to opt for a new twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6. Both engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and offer optional all-wheel-drive. Sadly, Genesis has not yet revealed any specifics on either engine.

As noted on the global model, the interior of the 2021 GV80 looks a notch above other Genesis interiors currently on the market. This new look is comprised of a 14.5-inch infotainment display centered in the dash, which is controlled via a control knob in the center console.

Buyers will also benefit from optional heated and cooled seats in the first and second rows, while the driver can have a massage thanks to optional Active Motion Driver’s Seat.

One of the headline features on the GV80 is a new active noise cancellation system that not only negates road noise, but also wind noise.

The quiet cabinet will be made even more pleasant thanks to an electronically controlled suspension that uses a camera to read the road surface ahead and adjust the dampers accordingly.

Keeping passengers safe will be 10 standard airbags and a whole suite of active safety features, including adaptive cruise control.

The 2021 Genesis GV80 will arrive to U.S. dealerships later this year, but Genesis has not provided a specific timeframe just yet.
