Audi’s new flagship sedan is just around the corner and has been rendered by X-Tomi Design. While not an official rendering from Audi, recent spy shots give us validation that the rendering is probably fairly close to the real-deal four-generation A8.
Based on VW Group’s MSB platform, the new A8 is expected to borrow a lot of its design cues from the Prologue Concept of last year and the recently-launched new Q7. This rendering certainly borrows from both vehicles with slimmer lamps and a more bold version of the signature Audi shield grille. The belt-line and greenhouse of the A8 appear to be largely evolutionary from today’s car, both in the rendering and spy shots.
In addition to the new look, the A8 is supposed to be lighter and more agile than today’s version. New engine options are also expected, including the possibility of Bentley’s 6.0-liter W12.
Audi has also confirmed that the new A8 will feature the latest version of the company’s Virtual Cockpit system. The new software version will include Audi’s first autonomous driving features.
