Audi has started the process of teasing the next-generation A7 Sportback. The new version is slated to be formally revealed later this week on Thursday, sporting an evolutionary design theme.
As is usually the case with these teaser shots, not a lot of detail can be uncovered. What we can see is that the general design of the new A7 is certainly an evolution of the current, attractive version. This means the new A7 is following other recent redesigns: sticking to the core design, but tweaking finishing to go more in line with the Prologue Concept.
Underneath the revamped design will rest Audi’s MLB Evo platform. This is the same architecture that underpins many recent Audi products, such as the new Q5.
Audi has not provided any further details about the new A7, but expect a range of engine options similar to the current one. The capstone of the A7 lineup will continue to be the RS7, which will likely retain its twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8, albeit with a boost in power.
While the German automaker will reveal the new A7 on Thursday, its first auto show appearance is expected to be at the Los Angeles Auto Show in early December.
