Audi Previews Radical Off-Road Concept

Audi has issued a teaser shot of a planned concept for this month’s Frankfurt Motor Show. The concept is called the AI:Trail and is a radical off-roader that is powered by a battery-electric powertrain.

In a statement, Audi says the AI:Trail previews an “electrically driven off-roader of the future.”

Audi provided no further details about the concept, other than confirming it will be shown in Frankfurt on September 10th.

The AI:Trail is the fourth concept the brand has shown in a series of autonomous, electric vehicles with radical designs. Audi’s exact purpose with these concepts has been to test ways to meet future mobility needs, but it is unclear if there is any production intent behind any of them.

Each of the concepts will be found in Frankfurt during the show.
