The Toyota C-HR is already a bit strange looking. Apparently, it wasn’t already strange enough though as Toyota has revealed the C-HR Hy-Power Concept in Frankfurt this week. With a new hybrid powertrain and plenty of orange accents, it adds some additional strange to the C-HR.
Under the hood is supposedly a new twist on Toyota’s gasoline hybrid powertrain, but thus far the company has offered up no details on it. What we do know is that this variant of the C-HR Hybrid is supposedly more performance oriented.
The added performance is shouting at us all with the Hy-Power Concept. Thanks a diamond pattern orange roof, orange accents inside and out and aggressive the concept version lets its aggression be known. Of course, adding performance to the C-HR is not a huge challenge. In the U.S. it is powered exclusively by a 144 horsepower 2.0-liter.
Europe actually already has a C-HR Hybrid model, but it offers even less power with only 121 horsepower.
So far Toyota says it has no plans to offer the C-HR Hybrid in the U.S. This means the Hy-Power Concept likely means nothing for those of us stateside, but that may not be a bad thing.
